Merlino Design Partnership is a internationally recognized design firm with offices in Philadelphia and Orlando. We have considerable experience in designing active adult retirement communities, independent living, assisted living, nursing facilities, special needs facilities as well as hospitals, medical office buildings and medical suites. We are confident in our ability to provide both functional and aesthetic designs that meet the highest standards.
The majority of our design projects consist of repeat commissions from clients. We’re proud of the reputation we earned by developing creative designs which effectively meet the program needs of our clients; by cultivating good relationships with clients, developers and architectural firms; by meeting schedules and budgets; and by designing structures in harmony with existing buildings and the environment.
Although we maintain a diverse practice, a significant part of our work is design for Senior Living and Healthcare clients. Because much of this work is specialized, it involves careful analysis and design as well as interior planning to provide a responsive environment.
We’ve been providing interior design services for life care communities since 1973, and are proud that many of our projects have received recognition and have been published. Our firm designed the first freestanding Alzheimer’s facilities in the State of New Jersey and more recently completed the Judith B. Flicker Residence, a prototype independent residence for developmentally disabled senior adults.
Merlino has worked with the International Division of Retirement Life Planners as consultants on these senior living projects:
- Prototype of retirement project in the suburbs of Paris, France
- Conceptual plans for a retirement project in Chateau D'Oex in Switzerland
- A residential complex for the aging in Madrid, Spain. This is a 150 unit project, containing facilities for cultural, religious, and sporting functions This exemplifies the strength of our design position and our reputation in the senior living industry.
