International Book Published

Merlino Design Partnership is proud to announce that three of our projects were published this past month for design excellence in a book published by Graphicsha Pubishing Co., Tokyo, Japan.

According to the author Masuhiro Agari, JAIA, “'Retiring in Style Around the WORLD' is a comprehensive guide to some of the most luxurious retirement complexes to be found in countries such as Japan, Europe and the U.S. for today’s seniors. The collection reflects the changing needs and diverse preferences of the elderly today, who pursue high quality homes with both traditional and contemporary influences and state of the facilities."

The Essex & Sussex was constructed in 1914 in Spring Lake, on the northern coast of New Jersey as a 400-room hotel. This project for a well-established developer consists of the conversion of the existing structure into a new independent senior housing community. Every effort was taken to recall the resort’s scale, detailing, and grandeur, and the original structure’s fabled Victorian elegance. The Essex & Sussex has once again become the “Crown Jewel” of the seashore.
