A Living Well Model of Dementia Care

Merlino Design Partnership is proud to announce its participation at the National AAHSA Conference in Orlando, Florida last month. Bruce Hurowitz, Principal of MDP, along with David Pomeranz and Robin Dessel from the Hebrew Home, presented a seminar entitled "A Living Well Model of Dementia Care."

Among the many learning objectives discussed, Robin Dessel, Director of Special Care Services, explained the theory which inspired an innovative “live large/live well” model of memory care in an urban, cosmopolitan residence, built upon the union of two adjoining neighborhoods into one expansive living space. Bruce Hurowitz supported this theory with an architectural presentation that included the Design Challenges, Design Principles and the Implementation of the Living Well Model.
